I really love the way this anime is balancing its cute, almost iyashikei-type moments with the more sinister darkness that lurks around the town. Neither vibe undercuts the other and it gives a sense that there’s something good and wholesome that needs to be protected here.
Also, Jiro is quickly becoming my favorite character (it doesn’t hurt that he looks so fluffy, lol)

For me it’s his calm voice and demeanour.
He’s got a lot going for him
I think my AOTS will be a fight between this and Jellyfish.
One thing that I adore in this series is the voice acting. I love it when characters have such a calm voice like Jirou and the small yokai.
Definitely a very chill, everyone’s nice vibe to this village, even if they have things in their past, like the fox spirit Yuri/Yurippe.
I wouldn’t mind living there.
Some sinister forces are around though, and it feels like most of the village, or at least the humans, aren’t aware that they’re quietly being protected by “Yokai Defense Force”, i.e. Jirou and Hayachiyo so far.
