I had to look this up; looks like the charges were dropped, which is slightly different from a ruling of innocence. The AG isn’t saying he didn’t do it, just that they can’t prove it through evidence.

I don’t like assuming guilt, especially when it ruins careers before any proof can be established, but I also remember hearing that he was kinda a dickhead… so maybe he just didn’t do himself any favors?

Yeah he was still messaging underaged fans. I didn’t know that he recorded from home most of the time and staff barely saw him around.

In fact, many of his former colleagues say they haven’t heard from him in years, and when they have, it’s been unpleasant. They note, too, that he hasn’t been on speaking terms with his Rick and Morty co-creator, Dan Harmon, for multiple seasons, and a substantial number of staffers on that show as well as Solar Opposites and Koala Man have never actually met Roiland, even over Zoom.

Without implementing this they’d still be liable for residuals for a voice talent they no longer want to associate with. It makes sense, even if it is duplication of work and a small thing in a game with a small player base it’s still going to be tracked and associated with the company.
