The Pope reportedly used a derogatory term about gay men again in a private meeting, where he is said to have reiterated a need for caution regarding them becoming priests.

Weeks after apologising for using a highly offensive word about gay men - the Pope has reportedly used the same term again.

Pope Francis initially made the remark in a closed-door meeting with bishops last month, when describing priesthood colleges as already too full of “frociaggine” - a highly offensive Italian slur.

According to ANSA news agency, the Pope repeated the term on Tuesday while meeting Roman priests, saying there is an air of “frociaggine” in the Vatican and it was better that young men with a homosexual tendency not be allowed to enter the seminary.

Actually traditionally they were quite friendly “behind closed doors” and hostile officially. So this is a reversal I’d say.

What is very traditional is that Pope Francis is a corrupt cowardly evil piece of shit, but that isn’t anything outstanding in Vatican’s history, though worse than the previous Pope.

Turns out the most progressive Pope ever is still fucking awful. Like, better than previously but still pretty fucking bad!

“The most progressive <T> ever” has been bullshit in each recent case. Because it’s a safe PR image and those who can maintain it are those who have the power, and thus are not very good people.

Not progressive but spineless. Like every religion when it loses relevance.

Seems to me like he said it again (E: or that the spin doctors are telling us about him saying it again now, I doubt it’s the first nor the second time he’s said something bigoted) because he can see that people are more focused on him using a slur, than they are on the context that it is being used in - excluding gay men from the church.

That isn’t to say there’s nothing wrong with using a slur, there obviously is and it all feeds back to exclusionary attitudes, but this is clearly a distraction, and it is working very well - I’ve not seen any comments about the actual discrimination.

Instead of worrying about the gays, he should be focusing on the paedophiles

I don’t care enough about this to do the research. So, does anybody know which slur, in particular, he has now been repeatedly using?
