Guy is literally doing a cancer research charity bike ride in honor of his deceased wife and gets hit with this.

I hope the farmer gets some time to think this over in a jail cell.

I did find one of the quotes darkly hilarious:

“Some farmers are miserable. I think it’s good to see people out enjoying the countryside, if he was camping in my field I would have stopped and had a chat with him, he could have been doing a charity bike ride or something.”

Yeah, he could have been, couldn’t he?

Time to introduce a nordic style “everymans right” system. Its ridiculous how little of the UK is (legally) accessible.

Where I’m from you are allowed to make camp anywhere, as long as you cant see anyones house.

Yeah. As a Swede i take my freedom to roam for granted. I camp, pick berries, forage for mushrooms and hike wherever I want whenever I want.

Honestly, that’s such a good system. I always loved that. How ridiculous and depressing to take nature away from people.

        Indeed.

I love the fact that I can just go into the woods and pick up a camping site without thinking about it too much.

Of course it helps that most of my country is forest and the rest are lakes but still
