Americans are easily the most propaganda fed nation on earth.

Even the ones that don’t like things like the pledge of allegiance or the nationalism at sports will just consider it some wacky and weird thing that their country just does and never as a symptom of fascism. Even the cool lib friends I’ve made, who I think are smart and nice people, are so heavily heavily indoctrinated that they cannot even comprehend the idea that people in another country might not want their country on top.

    every fediverse lib be like:

critical support for fascist USA against Russia and China!

for how much of a stink these people make about lesser evilism, you’d think they’d be better at determining the lesser evil.

  • it’s like being born and living your life at a concert up in the front row. it legit seems everybody around you is just trying to get closer and push toward the “best spot in the house”. the volume and the lights make it so your perception is all but filled with The Show.

it’s not unless you get dragged, pushed or pressured away from it that you might see or hear something else going on, and hopefully be curious enough to learn something, and start to look at The Concert in its totality, as a visible-from-space death machine which feeds on earth, water, blood and energy only to shit dollars, poison, and bones.

I try to spend my time, energy and talent doing things that I believe matter to the best of my ability, but I do occasionally catch shit from fellow burgerlanders for too often seeing negative features of our institutions and the scars they leave.

I just shrug it off and tell them I will not avert my eyes, because if all my efforts and struggles are in vain, I will at the very least bare witness.
