Two sources VGC spoke to suggested that the console could launch with an LCD screen, instead of the more premium OLED, in order to bring down costs, especially considering the increased storage needed for higher fidelity games. The current Switch comes with just 32GB of internal memory, while many current-gen PlayStation and Xbox games are over 100GB.

You can get android smartphones with 120Hz 1080p OLED displays and 128GB of internal storage for 150 US dollars. Come on Nintendo.

Also the rumoured new Nvidia Tegra T239 chipset’s GPU is capable of 4TFLOPS. The latest top of the line android phones already have ARM GPUs such as the Adreno 740, capable of between 3.5-3.7TFLOPS, and have been out for six months. By next year, the latest smartphones will be more powerful than the new Nintendo switch successor.

It’s pushing it at 150 smackaroonies but the POCO X5 does have a 120hz AMOLED with 128GB at 230 USD, granted it has a snapdragon 695, so it’s not going to max out genshin impact or whatever
