    This is why I have box mixes in hand for cooking when high, I’ve made them so often I don’t mess them up. And there’s always a non high person around in case I don’t hear the timer go off for the oven.

      Instapot, or similar, is the thing you want if you’re forgetful. Set cooking time with an auto off and warm function.

        I’ve never not set a timer, so it’s mostly me not hearing the timer because video games.

        And that is where my husband comes in! “Becky!! The timer going off!”

          A big oven doesn’t work with just a timer, because even if it turns off it will continue cooking. A small convection toaster oven or instapot can turn off and the heat evaporates quickly, so you can just leave it and it won’t burn.

    Alternately, I’ll bake a cake and forget to add any sugar to it, or something like that. I will realize all this when it is halfway baked - as I am at that point.
