I wasn’t aware there was a new wave of issues. This periodically happens every few years.
This explains why recently I thought I slept through some alarms. I’ve had some rough sleep schedule issues recently, so it was easy to blame myself.
Now I’m not so sure. This is like one of the few things an iPhone needs to do perfectly. Make emergency calls, and set off alarms. Both need to be perfect.
It’s kinda fucked up that alarms are not under more scrutiny.
Huh, after the 3rd time my alarm failed to go off, I was thinking I was going insane having thought I set it and merely forgot. But this is actually kind of reassuring, as at least I can rest assured it’s not just me.
On the other hand, it has me thinking I should dig out the ol’ reliable '80’s GE alarm clock. At least that one actually goes off.
Is that the one that aggressively rips you out of sleep with a horrific screeching buzzer? I think all of us of a certain age had that one.
Apple really needs to step up with bugfixes for iOS and MacOS instead of pushing rushed yearly upgrades.
Or… they can stuff some more undercooked AI features into the OS to make marketcap graph go up (:
I have a different weird problem with my iPhone alarm. I have 2 iPhones, but I only have an alarm on one of them, I deleted the alarm on the other one, but that other phone still goes off.
I have the same problem but it’s two watches (despite turning off the setting that means either watch should have an alarm linked to the phone)
