I apologise if this has been posted already, however I’m interested in your opinions on the way this is written.

To me it’s not at all negative and even has some positivity, although not overtly.

As that’s probably a fair bit to do with my own bias, do you agree with my assessment or have you any other opinions or perspective?

I’ll add that I’m not familiar with the journo. Any insight as to her position or track record would be very useful if you have it.

Thanks for reading, I look forward to your input.

This is pretty much a puff piece. I still reserve my doubts that he’ll ever play at a 60 million pound level. In my previous comments, I stated that Maddison is a better value at 40 million before the start of the season. I’ve also stated that Lavia would have been better for a more defensive set up. Already, Szoboszlai’s production for Liverpool is miles ahead of Havertz. I need to see more from Havertz, a goal from open play or an assist. A double digit G/A tally in all comps by the end of the season. I doubt, let’s call a spade a spade, a pity PK is gonna “change everything”. We should hold all our players at a high standard. He’ll be given a lot more opportunities, and I hope he proves his doubters, like me, wrong. What I dislike the most is, the “foggin’ standards” not being applied evenly. If Fabio Vieira, Trossard, ESR, or Nelson had Havertz’s level of production as a starter, they’d be disposed to bench far quicker.

Thanks for the reply and interesting reading it is too.

I hope Havertz proves everyone wrong as well but like you say, the standards don’t seem particularly even right now.

If it’s a puff piece, and I’m not saying it isn’t, what’s the motivation? What angle are they going for?

The BBC is impartial to a certain extent. This article is impartial but positive because the moment they are reporting about is a highlight of Havertz’s.
