A recession is not good times
Water is wet.
Are you saying we are in a recession, predicting one, or just stating a trueism?
If we arent in one we soon will be. After all, cooling the economy is what rate hikes does. Some businesses close which puts people out of work so they cut back on spending and the cycle continues. https://www.forbes.com/advisor/investing/are-we-in-a-recession/
The economy can cool without there being a recession. Decrease GDP growth, reduce job vacancies, etc.
So it’s just regular ol’ price gouging going on at this point? Got it.
Producer prices stopped rising a while ago, and consumer prices are beginning to follow. This is routine & predictable. Was there some price gouging? Of course. That’s routine & predictable too.
