Hey guys, First time using this device I am already in the ecosystem I have an iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods etc….
Please do give me any tips or recommendations. 🤝🤝
using your iPhone as a remote is incredible as I can never find the remote especially with my kids. I have one in ever room, 4 rooms and my phone can easily switch to control all 4. Make sure you set it up right with the right hdmi cord to the arch hdmi so you can control volume from your phone. You can even use your find to Find you remote (similar to find an AirTag) with new software update. When you put your airpods in the apple tv has a pop up that says to you want to switch auto to airpods… which is really cool. But, sometimes I’m watching tv at night and my wife starts to fall asleep, so I use this shortcut:
From the Apple TV’s home screen, press and hold down on the Play/Pause button on the Siri remote. After a few seconds you’ll see a screen like the one above. Simple select your bluetooth headphones and boom!
And second I set an accessible shortcut to reduce white point and it reduces the brightness of the tv screen. The shortcut for that is triple click the < button on remote or from iPhone control center remote its holding home button and selecting accessibility
Lastly, i love that how ever i configure the app layout on the screen, each tv in the house syncs and shows the exact same layout.
Love my ATV i have two HDs, and two 4k 2nd gen. Trying to find an excuse to get 4k 3rd gen.
Using your AirPods with it. It has made watching tv in the bedroom after my wife falls asleep a dream (pun intended). I don’t have to fight the volume up and down to avoid disturbing her while still hearing the spoken parts. Game changer.
Use accessibility shortcut to reduce white screen, which also dims the screen. My wife appreciates that lol.
Accessibility shortcut is triple > button

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned is screen mirroring. You can do it from your phone or computer, it comes in handy. Photos, documents, whatever else. Nice to be able to quickly make things huge.

This question is asked a lot on here and answered a lot in blog posts. Next time try searching for previous threads, or maybe get more specific on what you’re looking for. I get where you’re coming from, though. It’s exciting and sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know.
Screen mirroring is one of the main reasons I bought my first Apple TV.

Setup color balance in settings. It does the most true colors for your display possible. It looks incredible
Thanks for this! I’d never heard of this until now, and it’s a huge improvement. I had to tweak the TV color settings as noted below.
I am unable to control my tv using Apple TV remote (through hdmi) it is a Sony Bravia
By an external speaker some tvs just aren’t supported. https://support.apple.com/guide/tv/use-ios-or-ipados-control-center-atvb701cadc1/tvos
You won’t regret it, it smokes any set top box or built in tv apps.
I just wish it would support Kodi. I’d make the switch in a heartbeat
You can get Kodi with Appdb.to
