Yep. Schrems’ statement also hits the nail on the head: ‘Just announcing that something is ‘new,’ ‘robust’ or ‘effective’ does not cut it before the Court of Justice. We would need changes in U.S. surveillance law to make this work.’
It’s not obvious what protections this announcement actually gives against routine ongoing government surveillance in the US.
