I randomly stumbled onto this documentary on youtube and ended up watching the whole thing. The guy who created this race is an absolute character, he goes by ‘Lazarus Lake’, and he’s gone on to create more races since this one if you want to continue down the rabbit hole, you can check out his wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_Lake

While watching this I pondered if I could run such a race. As I drank my coffee, sitting in my reclining chair, some coffee went down the wrong pipe and I almost choked to death. I answered my own question.
