      His act was always just edginess. His popularity comes from giving permission to whites in the US to laugh and joke about its racist history, and say racist slurs (for the lolz). Now he’s doing the same thing, but with trans ppl (and anyone he considers “woke”), giving ppl permission to joke about their oppression.

      He even tells a story (where he almost came to the conclusion that his comedy is a horrible mistake), where some white guy followed him down the street yelling the N word at him and laughing maniacally.

        you are absolutely correct. Whatever an author’s intent is doesn’t matter, it’s the impact and in terms of impact, it is what you said. It gave people license to be racist.

        Also his argument about trans people being accepted quicker than black people is absurd. Should all oppression take a similar length of time to overcome? What a weird thing to gripe about.
