Is this a dig or just a casual statement?

Doesn’t matter if he says anything or not, they only charge Arteta. De Zerbi, Howe, O’Neil, Poch and Klopp have all been ‘disrespecting’ refs with nothing coming of it.

He literally said I will not do a Mikel Arteta comment. Not that he won’t do a Mikel Arteta. You’re clearly misunderstanding his words.

Seen the incident a few times, The refs 100 percent thought… I can’t and don’t want to attempt to keep up with play so he has blown the whistle. Simon Hooper just seems unfit as a referee, he struggles to keep up in games and it effects his decision making.

IMO I think this is a dig at the FA about what happened to Arteta for questioning a really terrible decision. He’s saying he feels the same way as Arteta, but knows he will get in trouble for saying the same kind of thing

Everyone saying it isn’t a dig: unpopular opinion, I think it is.

It’s classic mind games. Trying to name drop Arteta like he was weak by whining, and also basically saying the decision was shit without saying it. Using Mikel to make his point while simultaneously trying to make Arteta seem weak.

    This man mind games

He probably means he doesn’t want to get in trouble for giving an honest and correct opinion about the refereeing.
