For some reason some game storylines make a big deal out of the differences between Pureblood and Emblem Heartless. Why did Square Enix make the difference such a big deal in the story and lore?

Emblem heartless are artificially created and pure blood heartless are “natural” results of a person’s heart falling into darkness. As for why the distinction matters so much, there may be a hint buried in a Secret Report
