Authorities came to the home of Justice Arthur F. Engoron on the day he was set to hear closing arguments in New York’s suit against Donald Trump. The former president had attacked him on social media.
There has been evidence of this, especially during the police protests a couple years ago. There has also been a great deal of cleanup performed here. I don’t think it’s probably as bad or common as you fear, but I fully understand why you feel that way.
Because in some cases they are coming from out of the country and in other cases the call has been made via VOIP behind multiple proxies and a VPN and is basically untraceable.
In either case, nothing is going to happen in the same week that the crime occurred. It will take that long to investigate & determine if they can even issue a warrant.
You can pay a guy in another country to call in bomb threats using an untraceable VoIP number. It could reverb be a foreign adversary doing it just to stir the pot.
Same reason we get so many spam calls and the phone companies won’t do anything about it. It could also be the CIA trying to get more privacy invading laws passed by stirring the pot.
Nothing is untraceable, just difficult to trace. There are logs in all the points bounced between and you can follow the trail back if you find the right bit of metadata. In the case of the spam calls, the FCC is working on it, but it’s not as dire a thing as trying to kill a judge, so not too much attention is paid to any specific instance of a spam call.
So why is this?
Because half of the FBI are Trump Sympathizers. It is why a lot of the bs happening doesn’t get checked when it needs to.

Your logical fallacy is both infantile and uncreative.

The odds are very high it was a local MAGA dumbfuck calling from his office desk phone.
Is it possible to do it relatively untraceably? Sure. They absolutely did not do that. They are fucking idiots.
