A sixth-grade girls’ basketball team from northern Kentucky was banned from a boys’ basketball league after romping through the regular season to reach the championship.The squad from Next Level Girls Basketball notched a 7-1 record in a city-wide basketball league run by Southwestern Ohio Basketball and was preparing for the championship when league president Tom Sunderman notified the athletic academy that it would be too risky to let them play for the title, reported WVXU-FM.
Reminds me of when Zhang Shan won the Olympics’ skeet shooting category and then the Olympics barred women from competing against men.
yeah I was under the impression the mens was supposed to be unlimited and the womens were to allow for more female representation. I had no idea they barred a woman from competing in the mens. some bs there.
Reminds me of the English FA banning women’s football because they were getting bigger crowds than the men.
But this is saying the quiet part out loud:
“Doing this for 28 years, what we have worried about is a boys team losing to a girls team (especially in the year end tourney), they may get frustrated and retaliate against a girl,” Sunderman said in a statement. “Then we have liability issues.”
Men are afraid women will laugh at them. Women are afraid men will kill them. So we should stop women playing sport, apparently.
Ah, so they are concerned the boys will exhibit poor sportsmanship. Yes, yes, then let’s punish the girls /s It will show them how it is in life I suppose 😔
Can you imagine being on the boys team that wins because they did not compete against the real champions. Such an asterix it will be.
