This is like the best image editing I could do. I think it still gets the point across.

Damn, do I upvote this post because it made me laugh, or downvote because of the AI ‘art’.

I just manually edited this together. Not sure if the main source was AI or not.

ETA damn it you made me look at the fingers :(

Yeah, I don’t blame you. It’s hard to search for any image these days and not find something AI generated. (Also, what is she suppose to be holding? A teacup?)

I think so, and a remote. The hand holding the TV remote is especially bad. Now I’m just kinda bummed that I tried to make a funny, but posted AI bs while doing so.

I thought the left hand was holding a bunch of bank notes, but who knows really? But look on the bright side, at least what you posted was funny, that’s more value than 99% of AI bs uploaded to Lemmy.

And I did edit it heavily. Revy wasn’t there and I added the text, all manually in GIMP

Another good way to check is look for JPEG compression artifacts. A lot of these systems stored the images for training as JPEGs and thus they’ve been trained to add JPEG artifacts. They also were not corrected on what JPEG artifacts should look like, so they’ll add nonsense artifacts where they wouldn’t normally show up, for example, places without high contrast or that don’t line up with the grid that artifacts tend to form.
