I find the closer you get to cities the worse that is… M60 & M6 near Birmingham you’ll get people in the middle lane doing 60, and if you venture south of Watford on the M1 god help you against the people doing 50 in the outside lane
Unless it’s a 4 lane motorway, as the intersection between people who do 50-60 in cars on a motorway and people who don’t know motorways can have 4 lanes without one of them going off at a junction is a circle, so in those circumstances there’s always someone in the 2nd lane doing 50-60 regardless of where you ate, and in traffic the inside lane of a 4 lane motorway is almost always the fastest
trouble is more lanes are useless if so many people are lane hogs.
Too many times have i been stuck behind someone doing 60 in an overtaking lane with with nothing in the slow lane

People aren’t hitting 60 in LA during rush hour…
