Time magazine called the ex-president’s plans ‘an imperial presidency that would reshape America and its role in the world’

Donald Trump has warned that Joe Biden and his family could face multiple criminal prosecutions once he leaves office unless the US supreme court awards Trump immunity in his own legal battles with the criminal justice system.

In a sweeping interview with Time magazine, Trump painted a startling picture of his second term, from how he would wield the justice department to hinting he may let states monitor pregnant women to enforce abortion laws.

Trump made the threat against the Biden family in an interview with Eric Cortellessa of Time, in which he shared the outlines of what the magazine called “an imperial presidency that would reshape America and its role in the world”.

But it’s important that the stuff he says gets documented. If for no other reason than if it all goes downhill, the alien anthropologists can figure out what the hell happened after we exterminate ourselves.

There are the people on the fence about voting for Biden. Given that it’s a two party system, that effectively means that some people are on the fence about whether they want to help Trump win or help him lose.

The implication, well one of many, is that the President is the one charging Trump with these crimes. He’s being charged for state crimes, by the various states AGs, in accordance to their laws. He’s also being sued civilly by people he’s defrauded, sexually assaulted, or defamed.

The current president and current administration has had no input in any of this.

The federal cases he has stem from his “mishandling” of classified documents after he was out of office. This case is being handled by a special prosecutor who is insulated from the executive and bound by laws, procedure, legal ethics, etc to act independently from the administration.

So, at the end of the day it’s just more absolute horse shit from Trump and more evidence he should never be on the ballot.

            give loyalty

See, this is where we differ. I am not loyal to Biden. I would support someone else in a heartbeat, have supported others instead of him.

I am not loyal to him, nor the Democratic party. I am, however, strongly against Trump and practically everything he does and stands for. To that end, I have to do what I can to see that he not be in a position of power again. To that end, I will vote against him, even if that means a. Vote for Biden.

            LOL - “crucial role”.

            https://www.factcheck.org/2019/09/bidens-record-on-iraq-war/

“Biden was a consistent critic of the way the Bush administration handled the war: Its failure to exhaust diplomatic solutions, its failure to enlist a more robust group of allies for the war effort, and the lack of a plan for reconstruction of Iraq. Some of his comments proved to be quite prescient, including his warnings about the likely higher-than-expected cost and length of the war, and the complexity of “winning the peace” once Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein’s regime was toppled.”

“I will vote for this because we should be compelling Iraq to make good on its obligations to the United Nations,” Biden said. “Because while Iraq’s illegal weapons of mass destruction program do not — do not — pose an imminent threat to our national security, in my view, they will, if left unfettered. And because a strong vote in Congress, as I said, increases the prospect for a tough, new U.N. resolution on weapons of mass destruction, it is likely to get weapons inspectors in, which, in turn, decreases the prospects of war, in my view."

You really need to stop blaming Biden for the actions of other people.

I don’t like that or anything else like it, including Israel, but I know the facts and the realpolitik and it was: rock -> Biden <- hard place. Israel was a big mistake by the USA and UK and as such they’re both attached by a un-severable umbilical. Nobody else would’ve acted any differently.

My loyalty lies nowhere near Biden’s government - I’m not even from the US, I’m British - I’m just realistic about the breaks. Carry on with the principled stand and see what kind of sainthood it grants you. If you’re voting against Biden rather than opposed to Trump then you really will have a shit sandwich; your bed won’t be made at all, you’ll be sleeping rough.

Right? These Russian or right-wing grifters would be fawning over support for Israel and Bibi’s genocide if it was tRump in there right now. Fuck, the dude would probably have sent US troops to aid in ground offensives alongside the IDF.

It’s tiresome, and I just want this collective nightmare for most, and wet dreams for others, to be over. The constant goal-post dodgeball game is beyond overplayed at this point. Anyone who still conflates what Biden is doing with regards to Israel and what tRump would do in the same position, are beyond help at this point, IMO. tRump supporters have, for nearly a decade now, refused to accept reality as it exists, and instead are perfectly content with tRump so long as he is hurting the right people. They simply cannot distance their ideology from their politics so they double-down.

This is why MAGA constantly thinks all those voting for Biden and the Democratic party are doing so because they are loyal to Biden and the party. Most of us voting for Biden are not loyal at all to the Democrats or Biden. We vote for whomever will move the needle toward the kind of world we want to live in. tRump absolutely will do the up opposite, we already know that from the first circus of an administration.

Whatever keeps that traitor out of positions of power is a good thing for this country, it’s people, and the world. tRump is a weak-man’s version of a strong-man. He deserves no less than jail time.

Hilary did do a crime kinda. Based on the advice of a Repub telling her to have a private instead of government mail server. Then she complied with investigations and ultimately the government declined to prosecute because it was such a nothing issue.

In stark fucking contrast is Donald literally stealing classified documents, storing them in a run-down hotel next to a copy machine that anyone can access, refusing to comply with instructions to return them, lying about everything…

It really is a concerning situation that is going to turn November+ into a nightmare. Hopefully, we see an article about tRump being found dead as a headline if the SCOTUS slobs up the asinine defense of total immunity. That’s the only way I think this can resolve without a constitutional disaster. He’s basically daring someone to do something and I, for one, hope the “find out” part comes for him.

Surely the best way to resolve without a constitutional disaster is simply for him to convincingly lose the election come November ?

If he died now he would be a martyr obviously.

He lost one election already, then he threw a hissy fit and tried to stage a coup. The second time it will be even worse.

Hundreds of historians have said that Convicted Sex Offender Treason Trump is the worst president in history. There is no scenario where that changes.

            That’s not how martyrdom works.

It doesn’t matter how bad he is. If he dies then his spectre will remain eternal.

He needs to lose the election. A public acknowledgement that the people have rejected him.
