The Hunt for Gollum
Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum was announced to be in development on May 9, 2024 with a planned release in 2026. The script is being developed by Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens and set to be directed by and star Andy Serkis.
The hobbits production was an absolute dumpster fire though. If they took their time on the Hobbit movies, they could have been a lot better.
As far as I can tell Viggo isn’t signed on yet. He refused to cameo in the Hobbit movies so whether or not he’s in this movie is a good enough canary for me. If he thinks the script is true to the source material (which he is a massive fan of) and has faith in Andy Serkis, I will definitely be seeing this in theaters.
