    I’m no politics expert, but the voting system in the security Council and the UN sounds like bullshit to me. How can one vote defy 193 others? “hey, let me commit a genocide and whenever you vote to stop it, I’ll just veto it”

      The countries with the veto are, with the possible exception of the UK, the countries that the UN can’t touch anyway. If anything, I’m happy they are stating the double standards explicitly.

    The veto vote allowed Russia to protect itself from NATO terrorism and bullying last year, so I am unsure how I feel about it.

      Honestly, I doubt anything would’ve substantially changed if UN passed resolutions against Russia. The power of UN mostly applies to smaller states that get bullied by the west.
