There is some tragedy with the settlers. When the Arab states exiled and robbed their Jewish populations after the declaration of Israel, they all ended up fleeing to Israel because no one else would take them. And Israel didn’t want them, so after trapping them in refugee camps for years it sent many of them out to the frontiers to be, pardon the term, human shields between the Arabs and the European core. Some, certainly not all, settlers are the children of people exiled from their homes due to the actions of European colonizers, then sent off to be colonial meat-shields by those same European colonizers. That’s got to result in some kind of fucked up attitude towards the world, and I doubt a lot of those people ever really had much of a chance to be normal.

We were talking somewhere else on hexbear about how none of these people were born monsters; it had to be beaten in to them to hate and want to hurt people. The first victims of imperialism, colonialism, apartheid, whatever, are the oppressor’s own children, who have to be beaten in to the shape of oppressors before they can be turned against the oppressed.

Lol. The Europeans even forced a name on them. “Mizrahi”. Easterners. Racialized on their arrival in to the newly declared ethnostate, and immediately weaponized in the same fashion as many other racialized groups had been before.
