I’ve been trying to grow mine out for years. Multiple times I’ve lost many months of progress to malicious hairdressers but now I’m at a length which finally feels longer and I’m so happy. I hope it continues growing well and I continue getting happier and happier with my looks.
Feel free to join in or share your hair growth journey no matter if you’re masc or fem. :)
I haven’t had my hair professionally cut since 2020. I used covid as an excuse to get through the mullet phase and now I just keep it tied back and cut it myself when it gets too long to sleep comfortably with.
Yes, but mostly out of laziness. 😬 Then I realized I was saving like $40-50 a month on haircuts and trims. You could say I’m “growing my savings”.
(I’ll see myself out)
South Asian male here: I’ve tried, but my hair just grows out like an afro which makes me look like im homeless or something lol. I do think neck length hair looks cool tho.
Asian male here as well. Couldn’t do it 10 years ago as I end up like bat wings around my ears. Now my hair is not as thick and it’s working out a lot better.

Do beards count? Like many men, I decided to stop shaving during Covigeddon and discovered that a big, bushy beard suits me and decided to keep it.
I am actually! (am a guy)
I always got it cut around the awkward fase. My hair is quite robust and curly so when I grow it out I always look like a crazy professor after a month or 2.
I got a keratine treatment to relax it for a few months, so it is more manageable.
I am blessed with thick, coarse hair so I am very excited to see how it will look when it is (eventually) longer than shoulder length.
My last haircut was around the beginning of december 2022 so I hope to see some nice results around december this year.
I did it a couple of years ago, but I didn’t take care of my hair at all, so it looked like shit. Seriously if you want to do this, look up some advice on how to treat your hair so that it doesn’t look like an old mop.
Eventually I decided to cut it again because it was too much of a hassle, but I’m glad I had the experience.Anyway, good luck :D
I used to have shoulder length hair (I’m a guy). I cut it short a few years ago now, but I’m considering growing it out again!
I’m planning on moving onto a sailing boat within the next couple of years, I think I’ll celebrate the occasion by growing my hair out about shoulder length. Never had it properly long before, makes sense to do all my drastic changes in one go!
ah I had to give up on this journey cause my hair no longer will grow ;) got a killer beard though
I’m trying to grow my hair but rip its type 4a/4b so I’ll be growing it forever before it gets to shoulder length. And I look really bad with short hair so I just permanently look awful.
I’ve been growing out my hair since June 2020. It’s reached a point where I feel like fuck it imma just cut it.But knowing that, this is the longest my hair has ever been and every day I keep it is a new record, motivates me to keep it.
How much longer will I keep it ? I have no clue
Hi yes I’m growing out my hair :) I’m trying to present more fem (at times) and this is a great way to accomplish that because I also really wanted to try having long(er) hair for the first time.
I started at the end of 2022 (my last haircut was in November) and I’ve been growing it since then. I got kind of annoyed by there being no shape to my hair anymore last month so I did end up going to the hairdresser mostly to style it (ofc cutting it makes it a little shorter). It’s kind of medium long now, like 5-10cm away from my shoulders still.
I’ll keep on growing it because I like it a lot and I’ve gotten very positive responses from friends as well which is super nice!!
I’m trying to grow mine out, which is hard because it looks a bit messy. I have trouble finding a barber who can help shape it (it’s curly, so you really gotta find a good one for a good result) without cutting it really short. Now the hard part is finding products and techniques to style it. I’m so used to typical men’s hair routine of like 3 in 1 shampoo, so I’ve had to do a lot of research because I actually need to put effort into how I wash, dry, and style it.
Barbers don’t know how to cut hair apart from doing the barber special. Find a hairdresser!
