Yeah, I’m also a huge advocate for universal basic healthcare. I have ADHD and it affects my life a lot and it did since childhood to the point that I consider myself disabled. I got depression from it and other indirect problems. I also have undiagnosed ARFID but I very rarely visit any doctor or psychiatrist to work on those issues because I don’t have money for that stuff. And there’s a thing I don’t understand, I already have it far worse than healthy people so why should I pay additional fines for having it worse in life than others? It’s not like I decided to have all those problems and I have to pay not a small amount of money for coping with them.

Regarding routine healthcare, it would save soooooooo many lives that can easly be saved just by checking if everything is alright from time to time.

UBI should apply to necessary spends like public transport, grocery and maintenance. Allowing ubi per person might make people have multiple kids to share their resources without any meaningful contribution. UBI for your needs and work for your dreams (car, Gucci/ luxury brands)

The present data doesn’t factor in people not having to work and in a normal case other than the top 1% almost everyone has to work to earn their wealth. If people don’t have to go to work then what’ll be done with the free time ? Reproduction is what we are wired for. What’s the purpose of a life where you have no impact on your surroundings ?
