I am trying to subscribe to a channel on a PeerTube instance from kbin. Considering they are both ActivityPub, it would make sense that kbin could integrate with a PeerTube instance. But when I try to “Subscribe With A Remote Account” using my @ given in the profile section, I receive the error “Cannot fetch information of this remote account” Likewise, I get the same result when using just a regular email as theat seemed like what “jane_doe@example.com” was implying.
Confirmed. However I can copy the @channel@instance and paste it into the kbin search and subscribe that way, eg: @ internet_famous @ poast.tv (remove the spaces)
The only thing I see kbin picking up is a few posts made by random people. Is there any way to watch those videos from kbin or even another platform entirely.
Kbin is built around the idea of magazines, any content that arrives that is not part of a magazine, is added to the default magazine “random” so that’s likely where the posts are going, I’m not sure if they will be under threads or microblog though, I think threads because it’s a video - but I’d check both places to be sure.
Yes you can follow from Mastodon or anywhere. It’s just another federated post.
