One of the few games on my radar this year, Mana is largely nostalgia to me so I‘m probably lurking for a sale unless it surprises…
Hm no mention of coop, that was such a big part of Mana to me.
Same thing happened with Trials of Mana unfortunately, the remake is good and I liked it but losing co-op is like losing half of the game in this series. I still remember how fun it was playing the original with my brother years ago (had to patch the ROM cause there wasn’t an english release)
Wow, an actual new Mana game. Looks quite rough from the trailer but going to keep an eye on it. If the dress-spheres, sorry, class-changes, work mid-fight I could see myself enjoy that combat system.
Make fun of it all you want, but I really liked X-2 and the dress sphere concept
Still the best implementation of ATB they ever did.
I genuinely did, either. Not actually making fun of it. Everyone hated X-2, and there I was seemingly having a better time with it than with X!
I hate X-2 with the burning fury of a thousand suns, and I’ll still praise the combat.
Oh? Whys that? (And what did you think of X?)
I hated X because I found most of the characters sans Auron and Lulu to be incredibly obnoxious.
X-2 just made those problems worse by largely getting rid of the few characters I could tolerate, and somehow making Rikku even more annoying.
It says something about how good the combat was in those games that I managed to power my way thru X and a fair chunk of X-2 before it just got to be too much for me.
Nice to see that the Mana series got a pretty decent revival in the past couple of years. I am usually careful when it comes to publishers remaking and / or reviving old series from my childhood, but this time I have to admit that Square Enix did a pretty good job.
