The Wikileaks founder is allowed to walk free and return to Australia after being sentenced in a US court.

After a years-long legal saga, Wikileaks says that founder Julian Assange has left the UK after reaching a deal with US authorities that will see him plead guilty to criminal charges and go free.

Assange, 52, was charged with conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defence information […]

Assange will spend no time in US custody and will receive credit for the time spent incarcerated in the UK.

    Wow. he shouldn’t have been charged at all, but at least he’s being released finally.

      I think there might’ve been some pressure from the top. If William Barr was Attorney-General and Trump was President, then I’m sure they’d have thrown the book at him.

        I agree.

        That’s kind of what I meant, I’m really glad that this administration took the initiative to allow him liberty again since I don’t think he deserved the charges in the first place.
