The game’s size on PC is 139.84 GB. It’s 100.19 GB for the Standard Edition and 117.07 GB for the Premium Edition on consoles, which also comes with a digital artbook and soundtrack, skin pack, and the Shattered Space Story Expansion (when it becomes available).
Preload for Steam users will start on August 30 and require 125 GB of free space
Thanks for picking up where the summary dropped the ball
Jesus Christ. 15% of your 1TB for a single game.
2TB SSDs are going for as little as $60 right now. This isn’t much of a problem anymore.
How many players interested in this game are rockin’ a single terabyte? What’s your best guess?
p.s. You must realize that it’s actually 12.5%/13.9%, not 15%, right?
I guess if you want to get snoody about it. About half of gamers surveyed by steam have under 1tb( ~49%)
But more importantly 62% of all users surveyed, so this includes people with >1TB, have less than 499GB of free space on their machines. About 40% have less than 249GB. 17% have less than 99GB of free space.
Since you are so good at percentages, maybe you can give me your best guess at the number of people who would have to uninstall games to play this one.

You must know that they were rounding for simplicity’s sake, yet here you are.
1 TB was standard when I was shopping for gaming laptops last year. Frankly it’s more than enough for most people and in line with the consoles.
and the Shattered Space Story Expansion (when it becomes available).
What is this fuckery? Unplayable day-1 DLC pre-installed and taking up space on the user’s machine? Jesus christ bethesda

…shouldn’t those match?
The preloaded data could be compressed or it might not include the day 1 patch.
Don’t pre order. You know what happens when you pre order? A big dick in your mouth, that’s right
I absolutely agree; I’m preloading it because I just have it as a Game Pass benefit anyway. Could be I end up waiting 8 months for stability patches like everyone else.
I never see the point in preloading as it’ll just have a huge patch to install on release anyway.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game ship a day 1 patch that was the same size as the initial install.
Sure as hell won’t be preloading a Bethesda game on PC. Based on the system requirements I expect performance to be ass for a while after release.
It will be ass at first because it’s a new Bethesda game.
That said, it is possible to get an early key without actually preordering (mine came with another purchase), so I’m excited to explore all them bugs on launch.
This is helpful. I’ve been confused that the base game was 100.2GB and not 125
100 Gb? Eh…looks very standard.
