I just installed EndeavourOS in a new VM, and I set a different password for my user vs my admin (root) user. However, when I try to do anything that requires elevated access, it asks for my sudo password for my user account, and it accepts neither of the passwords above.

I can do su to get into root, but that means I can’t use any of the shortcuts that are in the start menu by default. What did I mess up?
