Me: “Well dad, how’d dating work back in your day? Did you ride your ten speed down the the Sody-Pop-Shop to look for some hot dames?”

Dad: “I was born in 65.”

Me, with a Mid-Atlantic Accent: “Hey there soda jerk know any toots with some hot gams I can take the Model T up to Fuck Butt Point with?”

Dad: “I met your Mom the same year Back to the Future 2 came out, you’re off by like…”

Me: “Excuse me I’m gonna 23 Skidoo down to the Chapel with this Sally I meet five minutes ago and get hitched!”

Disregarding that his premise is false, I mean it used to be more popular (or maybe it’s just my own stereotyping) to get married at age like 20 after knowing the person for only a year or two. Then they stay married for the rest of their lives, for better or worse, and when they’re 65 they’re sharing boomer memes on Facebook about hating their wife. Why is that preferred?

  • one of my favorite moves to fuck with boomer family is to imitate them, except i use the slang and cultural references from their parents’ generation. it confuses them that i can make the references because they haven’t heard them in 60 years, and of course they think it’s the lamest shit in the world because it was what their loser ass parents were into.

23 skidoo is a personal favorite.

My Dad thinks this same shit.

I can’t afford to date, Dad. It’s not the misogynistic “women be expensive” nonsense either. I can’t afford to leave the house to do anything by myself let alone another person.
