As per my other post, a weekly post to share what you’ve played on Gamepass would be cool.
I’ve been playing Tinykin for the last couple of days, and loving it. I tried it last year when it came to Gamepass, but quit after 15 minutes or so. I gave it another try and really loving it this time.
Also saw Ori being displayed somewhere, that’s probably one of the best games I’ve ever played. I know it’s been recommended often, but both games are a master piece.
Recently I’ve played though Wo Long (loved it), some of Ghostwire Tokyo (was enjoying it, but stopped and lost momentum), and currently finishing up Tunic (lovely game, tough but fair). Not really sure what to try next! Maybe this post will give me some ideas.
Adding, I tried out the first few minutes of Return to Monkey Island (I played the original 2 back in the day), and McPixel 3. Both look fun!
If you’re into RPG’s you can try Solasta. It uses a D&D 5e based as is actually quite good. Could be a good hold over until hopefully Baulders Gate 3 is announced of Xbox!
Solasta
I like RPG’s, big fan of The Witcher 3. I’ve tried Solasta, but quit after the first chapter or so, I found it too overwhelming I think. Perhaps I’ll give it another try.
I try all types of games. Love game pass.
I’m still on a Minecraft marathon with my son. Never played it before and Game Pass let me play now that we got him his copy. First game together. Quite special.
Hi fellow dad :) enjoy those moments! I’ve played many games with my girls. Can also recommend Stardew Valley. Gang Beasts is cool too. Next month a similar game is coming out, Party Animals.
I just finished Inside. A really weird and wonderful game. In terms of gameplay quite similar to Planet of Lana, which I played before. Both are quite short. I you haven’t played Inside before, don’t look anything up, and just start playing. The less you know before hand, the better it will be.
Inside
If you like Inside, I think you should like Limbo as well.
Sea of Thieves. Since day 1. Best Gamepass title. Easy to leave and return to.
Deaths Door is a minor masterpiece.
Tunic is a major masterpiece if you want something deceptively cerebral (looks like a kid-oriented Zelda-esque adventure. It is not, I assure you.)
Frost Punk is a very fun city builder with unique elements and design.
Loophero is a sort of tower defense but not? Strange game. Strangely addictive.
If you haven’t played Jedi Fallen Order, get on it. Sequel is out and it slaps. Fallen Order itself has a better storyline than all the Disney sequels and Clone Wars (yeah, I said it) combined.
Not on Gamepass anymore, but bonus points for any former Gamepass title that was so damn good I ended up buying it when it left Gamepass. And that trophy goes to Crosscode. Maybe the 2nd best single player game I’ve played this decade.
Some brilliant recommendations, has there been any information of when Survivor will come to game pass?
Not as far as I know. But it’s gotta, right? Via EA partnership?
Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the tips! I’ve tried some of your games but guess it’s not for everyone, e.g. I didn’t like Tunic, SoT, Death’s Door and Jedi Falled Order. That’s the great thing about Gamepass, there’s something for everyone :)
Shadowrun returns, now I started shadowrun dragonfall. Really liked the first one
Celeste and loving every second of it all. Better late than never!
Yeah have read awesome reviews about it. Isn’t it too hard? Eg I’m not a fan of Hollow Knight as I found it annoying to redo stuff every time I died.
It’s pretty hard yeah. But the game is designed so that you don’t have to redo an entire level every time you die.
Hollow Knight. I replayed it over the last couple of weeks and it is such a masterpiece.
I’ve tried it a couple of times based on all the raving reviews, but couldn’t stand the lack of checkpoints. Died against a boss about 5 times and had to walk all the way back from town was just very annoying and not relaxing to me. I don’t mind dying, eg I love Ori and don’t mind dying in hard section, as long as there are checkpoints.
The benches are checkpoints. Some of the bosses are quite far from a bench though admittedly.
