Small instances is the best way to enjoy the fediverse. You get to sit on the sidelines, laugh at the losers that get caught in defederation drama while remaining able to access every community on every instance.

I’m not saying that you should necessarily move here, there’s plenty of other instances out there. Howeeeeeever… ;)

I feel like lemm.ee is dead center, or maybe a little left of center because of explicitly prohibiting far right-wing instances. Because of the admins’ policy of defederation being the last resort, lemm.ee is pretty much open to most.

I made this tool just yesterday to check that. Don’t try to use it, it’s currently broken because too many people used it and dried up my free use quota.

Anyway, IIRC lemm.ee hasn’t been defederated by anyone. You can see who they have defederated over here. There’s Meta threads, a few porn instances as well as a bunch of other lemmies I don’t really know. Maybe they’re spam instances, idk.

I knew that tool was going to rocket to popularity. Simple QoL things like that that Lemmy needs.

In a parallel universe, you’d be swimming in gold and platinum coins kind stranger lol

I actually quite enjoy seeing some instances push to compete and take “customers” away from other, especially larger, instances. It’s almost like market forces are possible

Oh shit pcm is here? Been waiting for you losers, based and took ya long enough pilled!

Heads up BTW lemmy.world didn’t defederate us last I checked, they blocked our piracy community (still lame) but I think I can still interact with lemmy.world, their users just can’t see !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com posts.

Also, not sure we’re as libleft as we seem. They asked “favorite anarchists” and the farthest left my list got was “SEKIII,” also had RAW, Lysander, and Murray in there, and they let me in, so it can’t be tooooo left, I think we’re technically monke.

Based and welcome pilled. Actually we’ve been around for over almost two months now. The instance isn’t as old because at one point during our first two weeks I fucked up and accidentally deleted the database. Ooopsie.

Heads up BTW lemmy.world didn’t defederate us last I checked

Well my bad on that one, then. I was sure I had read the word “defed” somewhere, but seeing as neither of those is my instance I didn’t care enough to verify.

I don’t doubt you guys are libs, I just wasn’t sure whether to put you on the left or right side. Personally I classify anarchism as more of a left thing than a right one, so that’s where it came from.

Oh I’ve been here for 2y lol, just on .ml before db0.

Yeah no problem, just letting you know.

And yeah monke is libcenter, I’d say considering they let me in knowing who I liked, they can’t be fully green. And there are right leaning forms of anarchism and right anarchists, if right v left = individualism v collectivism.

That was a remake of the subreddit r/TheDonald. It took the admin a while to take it down and everyone started calling them Trump supporters for that. This was at the start of the Reddit migration.

The “sh.itjust.works” thing makes me terrified I just joined literally another Reddit. Was hoping for a politically open or even centrist place to hang out. :/

Nah don’t worry. sh.itjust.works is one of the more politically mild instances out there, perhaps only beaten by lemm.ee. Plus they host some very funny communities and very few blocked instances. Among the big players, it’s one of the best picks for a home instance.

How is the community of “free speech absolutists” placed in the authoritarian region? That sound like maximum libertarian to me.

Free speech absolutist is just a buzzword.

It’s actually used by most people to mean “absolute free speech for me, so I can censor others”

I’ll agree that they aren’t monarchists, they would probably be better placed in the lower AuthRight quadrant. However I still think they’re on the Auth side. Most of Lemmy likes to call them Nazis, though I think that isn’t necessarily true. Most of them are just Trump supporters.

Internet leftists seem to think all right wingers are fascist. This is because a lot of right wingers think children shouldn’t transition, and that abortion is baby murder. Leftists can not understand why we think these things, and make up lies to explain it. Those lies say we are fascist.

No. Internet leftists see that the leaders the right wing vote for are fascist. If fascism is your solution to the social issues you care about, then your are a fascist.

Yeah sorry, these are the ones I’ve heard the most about / visit more often. I don’t really know much about kbin at all. I think their shitty software makes them pretty much immune from fediverse drama, as you have no (easy) way of knowing which instances were defederated by a kbin one.
