Do you dual-boot Windows and Linux? Well, a recent Windows update seems to have been a bit messy and may have broken the ability to boot into Linux. Causing an alarming message to display of Something has gone seriously wrong.
Huh, is Windows screwing over GRUB and Linux not a bi-monthly experience anymore? Sad that it happened, but glad that it’s become novelty enough to write about.
yeah i remember the good old days, when windows update broke grub every time…
eventually i switched to Windows Boot Manager (built into windows) and luckily it stopped breaking….
but, as to your question, yeah it’s been years since windows broke grub…
I mean, maybe I’m just lucky, but I’ve been dual booting Linux and Windows for a little less than 10 years, and I’ve never had a Windows update interfere with GRUB. I’ve always thought the complaints were overblown.
