I appreciate the thought and explanation! (I’m mostly replying to this because there seems to be a bug on SJW that prevents me from interacting with your comment from the notifications panel, leaving me with an undismissable notification)
I feel even more confused, having now learned that the creator of this comic/card seems to have made a habit of poking fun at the creator of this community since its creation. So few people had seen this community at the time that the effort to reward ratio started out unreasonably, immeasurably high. Considering that and the fact that the mod here has a drawing tablet, but rarely if ever posts their own art, I have to wonder whether both the artist and mod are the same person.
I have never poked fun at any one person, unless it was Bryan Lunduke, but he purposely hurt my feelings, so my reaction was justified, or so I tell myself. Helps me sleep at night. I make Fun content.
I didn’t personally think so because SDF is a unix related non-profit that started at the end of the 80s. I think it’s normal for people to choose irrational seeming behaviour when it has personal importance to themselves and possibly other members they know in a community. On the Mastodon instance, they also have a quote from Eugen Rochko
“I appreciate SDF but it’s a general-purpose server and the name doesn’t make it obvious that it’s about art.” - Eugen Rochko
The author mixes interpersonal relationships into their art.

This post is also from pmjv, where they also add Garfield.
The other user has been posting modified ring wing Garfield comics for a while.
These are all from qrstuv
I take it you’re not a big Jean-Luc Godard fan, seeing you failed to recognize the famous quote.
I don’t think I pass the vibe check either

@pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org has a drawing tablet. @qrstuv@lemmy.sdf.org has a drawing tablet.
It’s not a bad theory, but I do not know that man.
That rooster better hurry and crow

That makes sense, yeah. What an utterly bizarre situation. Reminds me of irc feuds, but far more public.
We also feud on IRC.
