Not only is Premier Inn being replaced with two tower blocks, now Debenhams will be ripped down and replaced with two tower blocks.

They’re sure as hell not to be social lets or affordable homes.
I was firmly in the camp of ‘why isn’t there enough really affordable homes/lets’ but a post I saw the other day made me consider a different point of view…
As long as the homes are inhabited, building unaffordable isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it increases the housing stock overall.
