I always wonder if the people making these shitty slogans, merch, or the campaign as a whole actually think they’re savvy and brilliant like an epic Sorkin character, or if it’s just cynical punching the clock “let’s do 2016 again so we don’t have to govern” stuff. It probably just depends on the person I guess.
Like any job, it’s probably a mix of the two. You’ve got the True Believers who think they’re the marketing geniuses of the century, then you’ve got the people who recognise that they can just submit their first draft and clock out at noon.
