I was interested in it, even thought of running a relay, but there are some things I’m not comfortable with:

    1. It doesn’t sound very well equipped to deal with things like CSAM or spam
    2. The solution to that seems to be requiring crypto payments to join/post to a relay, which I disagree with

I also hate the micro-blogging platform style so that doesn’t help. I’m not writing it off, but I’ve set it aside for now.

Edit: Are you using it? How are you finding it?

I feel that. I fucking so hate the Twitter layout bullshit too like you can not believe. I really hate that about nostr.

As far as csam amethyst app has automatic filters you can use. And quite honestly, I’ve never really seen that on nostr. I’ve seen A LOT HOWEVER of that bs and loli bs on the fediverse.

Like using a mastodon or plemora instance and then filtering by public. Like holy shit. I blocked so many dam ppl and instances.

To continue, ppl can report those posts and csam is actually one of the reporting options.

Yes I use it. I like that I can go wild and be a bit of a dick on there lol but they need better nostr clients. Especially one that looks like reddit.

You’re right, I was thinking more from the point of view of hosting a relay.

There’s always a challenge with balancing ‘free from censorship’ with ‘getting rid of things like CSAM’ because they are both content as far as the server is concerned. It’s a contradiction, the platform wants to make sure that content can’t be censored, but how does it censor things that are unlawful?

Maybe I need to learn more about. If they did come up with a reddit-like client then I’d seriously look into it.
