Because they represent the same class of people in reality (the owners of major capital) and only differ around the margins. Since neither ACTUALLY represents the workers of the country, they don’t actually care. They’re running on the “hey, our candidate isn’t cheeto Hitler, so vote for us” and hoping that their base will ignore that their candidate was an integral part to the violent police state of the settler colonial government that they’d loudly protested 4 years ago.
They are frogs in the well, or Plato’s cavemen. And even with this, party still can’t risk even a tiny sliver of democracy, note they didn’t even had primaries this time and last two times primaries were utter farce (and i wouldn’t be surprised if previous ones too but i did not watched back then).

Oh I get why the actual Democrats are okay with this. I guess I should have phrased it as “why are democrat voters okay with this.”
