@jordanlund@lemmy.world is banning people on lemmy.world’s largest communities for saying that Israel is like the 51st US state. He’s declaring that this is “misinformation”

That Israel exists as a de-facto US state is a fairly non-controversial statement in Israel. But on lemmy.world’s largest communities, where mods are working to distance certain US politicians from the war, it’s now misinformation.

Of course it is. Hyperbole is not news, and you posted it to .world’s c/news & c/world. You’re trolling. If it were my instance I would have given you a temp site ban.

I’m simply pointing out where the moderator, who believes Israel could exist without US or another major power’s support, is in disagreement with any serious international policy expert within or outside of Israel. Calling Israel a 51st US state isn’t a big deal in Israel, they know.

In polite society it is a controversial statement to call another sovereign country a US state. If you if you don’t understand why then maybe you should look inward toward your biases, or maybe understand what it actually means to be a US state. Nice hot take though.

Are you saying Israel is an impolite society? I’m not disagreeing, just want to make that clear.

It’s still wrong. Israel isn’t a US State or even a territory. They’re a sovereign nation. It is a false statement.

And for the record, I think Puerto Rico is going to be the 51st state. Or possibly Guam.
