    Their profit is entirely from selling user data and what are the odds that it is a one time source of income now that new data is increasingly polluted by bot spam?

    Well and behind it is stealing other peoples’ work (posts and comments, moderation and administration) and selling them as yours. The oldest capitalist criminal trick in the book: privatization AKA primitive accumulation AKA enclosure of the commons.

    What’d happen to ðose numbers if it was illegal to include bot engagement when determining revenue?
