I have to say The Substance. It was really a joy seeing it. I was very exited that Coralie Fargeatwas made another movie since Revenge was a fun but painful watch. The ending was a mixed bag while I do see where it was coming from.

What is your favorite horror so far?

“Longlegs.” I still need to see “Smile 2,” “Red Rooms,” “Heretic” and “Late Night With the Devil,” though.

I think this is a great horror year because I loved The Substance but I was blown away by Late Night With the Devil. Plus we also had Longlegs and Alien: Romulus. I just thought Late Night had great pacing, really interesting characters, and it got my entire theater to scream out loud at the end. David Dastmalchian just knocks it out of the park. Lots of great stuff this year

The Substance might be the best film according to the critical/audience consensus. Personally did think it was very good but I might have enjoyed Alien Romulus more subjectively as a big fan of that franchise.

Longlegs was style over substance for me. I think it does tell quite an engaging story about childhood trauma but the dialogue in the 2nd half does a lot of undermine all the good build up.

Longlegs was such a disappointment to me. It was hyoed up and I thought it would be really great but it did not meet expectations.

Late Night With The Devil was great (even with the AI controversy)

Longlegs was also a really fun watch - gotta love Nicholas Cage.

Climate change? US politics? The wars in … oh, you mean movies. Never mind.
