The consequences of allowing Discovery Communications and Zaslav to acquire Warner-HBO has been just one unmitigated disaster and pox upon the landscape of television and entertainment after another, one of the most destructive mergers in history. On the other hand maybe this might hurt US cultural hegemony a bit and in that respect be a good thing if the US bothers to capitalize on it. But itis so unfortunate for those living in the core.
