Summary

The appointment of former Tesla engineer Thomas Shedd as head of the Technology Transformation Services (TTS) has disrupted the agency responsible for U.S. government IT infrastructure.

TTS employees report being summoned to sudden meetings with unidentified individuals lacking government credentials, raising concerns over security and oversight.

Shedd, aligned with Musk’s government efficiency initiatives, emphasizes cost-cutting and tech adoption.

Workers fear the changes could expose sensitive data or compromise government operations, while confusion grows over the agency’s direction under new leadership.

I’m pretty sure the point is to get sensitive information and weaken government IT infrastructure.

That’s the whole modus operandi of these traitorous [unable to find strong enough words to describe them].

I wonder how difficult it would be for a bad actor to walk right into a government office with bogus credentials to “inspect” things. All this chaos is bad for national security.

The real question is how difficult would it be for a bad actor with a fake github to charm an appointee and be put into a job like this.

There’s a non-zero chance North Korea’s tech firm espionage group is trying exactly this, because these fools don’t want to wait for pesky things like security clearances.

There are very few places that will actually challenge you if you wear the right outfit and have confidence. I haven’t worked at Walmart in years, but I can still wander around the back room looking for unstocked items if I wear a blue vest and some jeans.

Universally, you could just wear a janitor’s coveralls and carry a mop and bucket around.

Are you implying these are good actors with good credentials though? :^)

Uh, don’t have that meeting then? This work has to at least touch on controlled unclassified information, the rules don’t go away just because your new boss doesn’t know them. Also, this is exactly the sort of thing people would do to test that the rules were being followed. Work to rule.

This is going to be great. I’m sure that musks little lackeys will definitely make things run smoothly and more efficiently and not get in the way of everything and bring our already lacking IT and cybersecurity to its knees with dumb bs and muskies pet projects, right?

    Or.

Elons suckup staff and AI have real military code privileges, and staff do what they say.

🎶 One of these things is not as plausible as the… 🎶 fucking lol yes they’re both completely plausible.
