    Whats stopping you from slapping a linux distro on any of the other handhelds? Especially with steamos, which is made with that in mind, on the way?

      Other than some of them having some really… quirky drivers (which is a big deal), nothing.

      But most people don’t like installing OSes, and it’s still better to have official support than no support, so I think it’s still a benefit to the user to have it as an official option, and still benefits us to have a larger SteamOS userbase in general.

      Nothing. I did this with two different handhelds. The main problem that I’ve run into is that the built in controls don’t work as well as if they had been natively supported and I would be more than willing to have a fix for that with an official steam OS distro if one was available. The point is, a closed mouth don’t get fed. If they don’t think people want this they aren’t going to dedicate time and resources to it.
