I was for years and years. We let up a little bit, but even after college, my wife and I lived like we were still poor students for half-a-decade longer in order to get the money together for a home. Now, of course, we spend more money since we have a kid and our into eating healthy.

Nonetheless, I still see what we do as a sort of grind with the exception that we do buy quality foods and don’t hesitate to treat ourselves to ice cream. But zero money towards booze, video games, or otherwise frivolous stuff, and I am proud of that. It’s a good example for my kid.

Sparse, teutonic living should be the norm.
