Look, I know the forecast was for Saturday to be the last hot day of the year, but I thought we might have a few days of grey before the start of all-out autumn rainstorms.

We’ve been robbed this year. Yes, we had a cracking spring, but the moment the summer season began it was just terrible. And then as soon as it draws to an end, we have a heat wave!

I’m already looking forward to spring, the autumn / winter months are depressing.

At least we had that one glorious week as a parting for the year.

I had to spend all my free time that week fixing my shed rooves and painting the fences but oh well!

Way over here in the SW US, we had a cold af summer, setting precipitation records in may and june, turning to hot days that set records. Now: cold.

Here in the Pacific Northwest of the US it’s been dry AF. Not terribly hot but oddly dry. I live in a rain forest with no rain.

Denver had more rain than Seattle in May and June, which was an oddly wet season for us. 16"
