I went out on Friday with this girl I’d met at the club the weekend before. My first official date with another woman, pretty much nervous and excited in equal parts! I suggested sushi since she’d only ever had like grocery store California rolls, so we went out to one of my favorite places.

It went really well, we clicked just as instantly as when we met. I got to impress her with my chopstick skills, and plenty of flirty opportunities feeding each other bites.

We moved to the bar after dinner for some drinks, and she told me she’d been going slow on things getting really physical because I’d told her I was new to things and she didn’t want me to feel pressured. It was funny because I’d been looking to keep it slow because I didn’t want her to think I was just some straight girl looking to experiment (I know, it’s a stereotype, but I’d read that that stigma can be a concern sometimes when you’re trying to date as a bi girl). Turns out communication and openness is key with romantic partners, who knew?!

It was pretty late when we left, so we didn’t end up doing anything that night, but we’re both much more comfortable about taking that next step and I’m really looking forward to our next date. I impulsively invited her to my place so I could cook for her, she seemed really excited by that idea, so we’ve got that set up for this weekend. Now I just need to figure out what I’m going to make! I love to cook, and I’m pretty good at it if I do say so myself, but I had done zero planning before suggesting that idea, so I’ll have to get things together this week so everything goes perfect!

The slow burn on this adventure is amazing. As a bi guy it’s a lot more similar to my own experience with women as compared to men. The buildup and anticipation is half the fun.

How are you going to keep yourself together until your next meeting?!

Lol we’re constantly texting throughout the day, sending flirty messages to each other etc. I’ll admit I’m crushing pretty bad! Fortunately I’ve got plenty to distract me between trying to get my apartment ready, figure out what I’m going to make (I want something tasty and impressive looking, but not too heavy so we don’t have to worry about after), going shopping for all the stuff, and maybe getting something new to put on for playtime afterwards

Oh my gosh I haven’t heard about a budding romance like this in a long time. You’re a great writer too, so it’s a lot of fun to read about your experience.
