Hello, recently joined after 14 years on reddit, not sure if anyone would recognise me but I was mildly active in Linux subreddits, especially /r/linuxaudio.

Is there any interest in creating a similar community here? I have started getting back into making music on Linux after a few years where my job took over my life.

Edit: Please check out: https://waveform.social/c/linuxaudio and let me know if you want to join in moderation

Unfortunately not much, I have almost no clue on making music (but know Linux and its software quite well).

The best I have achieved for now is fully (dis)assembled and mechanically repaired hanging keys on a good old Korg M1, connected it with MIDI (via USB) and played a bit around with it from my Linux box. Assume that pictures of a disassembled Korg are not of interest in the context of Linux audio ;)

Software used on Linux was amidi (with SysEx) to dump and restore sounds-banks etc, and aplaymidi to play midi on the Korg. Both worked perfectly fine. On the other hand have no results yet with Rosegarden (and other software).

Maybe my (short) notes about how to do things with amidi and aplaymidi can be bit of interest in a Linux audio community.

(I also own a cheap drumset(?) from Aldi wich surprisingly had Midi. But could not experiment much with it yet … cause of real life taking the time)
